User Provisioning from IDPs

User provisioning between Pyramid and your external authentication provider (IDP) allows Pyramid's automated user search and auto provisioning engines to operate seamlessly with that IDP - making the IDP integration easier and smarter for admins.

  • User Search makes it easier to add users to Pyramid, by finding users in the IDP and adding them through APIs rather than using manual data entry.
  • Auto Provisioning allows admins to automatically add, update, and remove users from Pyramid based on their membership of security groups within the IDP. This approach makes adding users far smarter, simpler, and more automated than a manual approach.

IDP Provisioning support

The following IDPs can utilize user provisioning integration with Pyramid. Most providers require some specialized setup steps (as described on each items page linked below).

Active Directory does not require an explicit provisioning setup. It operates from its main settings as is.

Enabling Provisioning

Once set up, Provisioning itself needs to be enabled in Pyramid regardless of provider. Then provisioning jobs need to be added to the scheduled task list for execution.
